The Malabar Christian College, Kozhikode, accredited with A grade (CGPA 3.30) by the NAAC, is one of the oldest educational institutions in South India. The college offers 11 UG programmes and 9 PG programmes. Established in 1909 by the Basel Evangelical Missionaries from Basel, Switzerland, the College is a Heritage Institution situated in the heart of the city. At a time when education was the right of the elite sections of the society, the German missionaries, who were the founding fathers of this institution, threw open its doors of learning to all sections including women, the lower castes and the less privileged and since then the College has been in the forefront of imparting education without discrimination.
The Malabar Christian College is one among a few educational institutions blessed by the visit of the Father of our Nation. The College takes pride in presenting several luminaries to the service of our country. Some of the luminaries who have blessed the soul of the College include Shri. O.V. Vijayan, popular novelist, Shri. Sanjayan, an award winning writer and satirist and Smt. Anna Rajam Malhotra, first woman IAS officer of independent India.
The College continues its glorious journey under the patronage of Rt. Rev. Dr. Royce Manoj Victor, the Bishop of the Malabar Diocese of the Church of South India and the able leadership of Mr. Joseph S. Daniel, the Manager of the College. Dr. Godwin Samraj D.P, the Principal of the College continuously strives to guide the students and faculty of the College to heights of success. The College celebrates 110 year of service to humanity during the year 2019-20.
