About the Department | The Department of Economics of Malabar Christian College takes pride in its long history and achievements. With the introduction of the undergraduate courses in Economics and Mathematics, in the year 1956, the College was upgraded to a first grade College by the University of Madras to which it was affiliated in the early years. The B.A. Economics course was converted to a double main (Economics and History) degree programme in 1965. The Kerala University restored the Economics degree programme in the early part of 1970s. The Department of Economics has the fortune of hosting several luminaries as faculty and students. The alumni of the Department have rendered exemplary service to different walks of life across our great nation. Mr. P.K. Surendranath was the first Head of the Department, followed by Prof. P.P. Skaria, who later served a s the Principal of the College. The Department gratefully acknowledges the contribution of all the former faculty members. |

MA ECONOMETRICS (2 Years / 4 Semesters) Eligibility: BA degree from the University of Calicut with Economics, Foreign Trade, Development Economics (main/core) or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks for Part III (excluding subsidiaries) or equivalent grade or BSc Degree of this university with Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science (main/core) with 70% marks for Part III (excluding subsidiaries) or equivalent grade.
