| The Under Graduate Department of Physics was set up in the year 1959 with the starting of the BSc Degree Course with Physics as the main subject and with Mathematics and Chemistry as subsidiaries. The first batch of BSc Physics had 20 students. |

Established in 1959, the Department of Physics has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence at Malabar Christian College. The department began its journey with the introduction of the B.Sc. Degree Course, featuring Physics as the core subject supported by Mathematics and Chemistry. From its inaugural batch of 20 students, the department has grown into a vibrant hub for scientific inquiry and foundational learning.
