Dr. Sachin. P. James completed his graduation and post-graduation studies from Malabar Christian College, Calicut before joining at UPASI Tea Research Institute at Valparai as Senior Research Fellow in one of the National Tea Research Foundation Funded Project. After working more than 2 years in the project as SRF, he joined as Assistant Entomologist in the same institute during 2005. He obtained his Doctoral degree from Bharathiar University. Having worked as Assistant entomologist for 3 years he joined as Scientist & Head, Dept. of Entomology in Research & Department centre, E.I.D. Parry, Bangalore and worked for about 2 years before taking up the present position as Assistant professor in P.G. and Research Department of Zoology, Malabar Christian College, Calicut. He has got many National and International research publications to his credit and a recognized research Guide of Calicut University. Awarded as Best NSS programme officer in the University level in 2014 and received best Paper Presentation Award in 9th International Conference on Chemical Ecology held in London in 2017. Presently doing basic and applied research works in Entomology and Acarology specifically on behaviour modifying chemicals in collaboration with Dr. John Sweeney, Natural Resources Canada, Canadian Forest Service, Taxonomic and clinico-epidemiological work on blister beetle with Dr.Parvathy Santhosh, Malabar Medical College and Research Centre, Kozhikode and Insect Pest Management using Biocontrol agents.
He is presently the Principal (I/C) of Malabar Christian College.
Biosystematics study of the Acarine Fauna of the Stored Products with Special reference to Predatory Mites(Family Cheyletide) funded by University Grants Commission (Total outlay of Rs.3,35,000/- MRP/12th Plan/14- 15/KLCCA043 dated 4th February 2015) Completed.
