About

Dr. Shinoy Jesinth is a historian of urban studies and colonial period. His main areas of research are in Kerala History. His expertise is in urbanity, colonial modernity, and spatiality, and maritime trade and medieval cities in South India. He is especially interested in the city architecture and spatial dynamics in Kozhikode, Kerala. He has published numerous articles in national and international peer reviewed journals and proceedings. He is member in three professional organizations:
1) Association for Asian Studies,
2) European Association for South Asian Studies, and
3) Association of Third World Studies, South Asia Chapter.
He served as consultant to Southern Railway, Palakkad Division in commemorating the 125th year of Calicut Railway Station. He also served as consultant to State Bank of India, Calicut Main Branch on the occasion of 150th birthday of the Branch.
