Govind joined MCC as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry in February 2014. Govind completed his post graduation in Chemistry from the Department of Studies, University of Mysore. Later he obtained PhD from AcSIR for the research work carried out at the CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune under the guidance of Dr. P. A. Joy. His principal research interest is in the area of materials chemistry, with an objective to develop functional nanomaterials for applications in diverse areas such as the electronic devices, sustainable energy, biomedicine, catalysis and environmental problems. Govind teaches Physical Chemistry, nanomaterials and nanomaterials characterization techniques at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has an active research group working in the area of nanomaterials.
