The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Malabar Christian College, Kozhikode is committed to cultivating a culture of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship among students and faculty. Established in line with the vision of promoting innovation-driven education, the council provides a platform for nurturing innovative ideas, encouraging research, and developing solutions to real-world challenges. It aims to inspire students to think creatively, embrace problem-solving, and transform ideas into impactful initiatives.
The council organizes a wide range of activities, including innovation workshops, expert lectures, idea competitions, hackathons, entrepreneurship awareness programmes, design thinking sessions, intellectual property rights (IPR) seminars, and start-up orientation programmes. These initiatives help students develop essential skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, leadership, innovation management, and entrepreneurial decision-making while exposing them to emerging technologies and industry trends.
The Institution’s Innovation Council also promotes interdisciplinary collaboration by connecting students, faculty, researchers, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and innovation ecosystems. Through mentorship, incubation support, project-based learning, and research initiatives, the council encourages students to develop innovative products, services, and sustainable solutions that address societal and industrial needs. It creates opportunities for experiential learning and prepares students for careers in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
